The Young Executive Board Foundation (“YEB Foundation”) is the unofficial charitable arm for the Capital Club’s YEB. The YEB Foundation’s principal purpose is to provide a vehicle through which its civic-minded members may give back to and benefit the Central Ohio community. The YEB Foundation is a volunteer-driven organization with no paid staff or officers. The Foundation’s principal fundraising
activities takes place through events organized by the Young Executive Board. It
then returns the net proceeds to the Central Ohio community through donations to other charitable entities and its own programs, one of which develops and pairs
its members with local non-profits seeking board service. The YEB Foundation receives substantially all of its support from the general public.
For the last two years, the YEB Foundation has hosted several well-attended (200+
people) casino-themed fundraising events, targeting Columbus’ young professionals
and partnering with two unique local charities—Hope Street Kids and the Homeless Families Foundation. Each organization’s cause—childhood cancer and homeless in
Columbus—and smaller size were appealing for partnership, as the fundraising activities
and public awareness opportunity could have a greater impact on the beneficiary
organization. A substantial amount of the net proceeds from the events were contributed to each organization. The remaining net proceeds were used to fund the YEB Foundation’s initial organizational expenses and as seed money for future charity events and
programs.
